VICE PRESIDENT:Anita Dixon

Anita J. Dixon has been in business since 1991, starting one of the nation’s first “heritage” tour companies that specialized in African American heritage, sites and attractions.

Since then, she has directed major programs in tourism and cultural heritage preservation locally and nationally, most notably assisting in passing HR 1635, The National Network to Freedom Act which preserves the sites of the Underground Railroad throughout the United States and Canada and the “Goin’ To Kansas City Plaza” located on the historic corner of 12th St. and Vine.

In 2002, she began a 501 c3, The Lady of Freedom Monument Foundation and along with Sergio D. Moore, Vice President of Operations, operates the Urban Wellness Campus, a 1900 sq ft facility that brings holistic, preventive health care options to low income residents in the metropolitan area.

Most members should have no need to make direct contact with any MMF Officer or Board Member outside of Board Meetings.   However, if such extremely rare cases do arise, then please follow the procedure below.

1. Contact the Mutual Musicians Foundation business office
   at: 816-471-5212 during business hours
2. Inform the office staff of the nature of your business and request
3. If the matter can not be addressed during a normal Board Meeting, then an appointment will be scheduled at the earliest convenience
4. Please do not call Board Members at home or email them at their private email addresses.
5. For general comments and questions, please feel free to post your input on this page (Please note that all comments are moderated).
